January 12, 2018 | Category: ArticlesAttorneys Stephen and Madej and John C.W. Hohmeier recently obtained dismissal of a physical therapy provider's medical bills pursuant to MCL 500.3107b(c). Testimony of the patient, physical therapy company employees, and owning physician revealed that all of the physical therapy services were rendered by a medical doctor and a certified nurses assistant. The trial court agreed that pursuant to MCL 500.3107b(c), physical therapy services were not compensable unless rendered by a physical therapist or a physical therapist assistant under the supervision of a physical therapist. Based on the testimony, the trial court granted our client's Motion for Partial Summary Disposition and dismissed the physical therapy provider's bills.
